Welcome to Episode 6! Things are getting crazier—Amara passed out, Kene shattered the barrier, and now... she's somewhere else. Buckle up, because the truth is starting to bleed through.
Amara gasped awake.
But the room around her wasn't her room.
The smell of wet earth filled her nose. The walls weren't walls at all—they were towering trees, ancient and knotted, their branches stretching into a sky covered in storm clouds. The rain was gone, replaced by a strange, humming silence.
She staggered to her feet, her clothes still damp. Her breath fogged in the cold air as she spun around.
This wasn't Enugu. This wasn't anywhere she knew.
And then—
"You're awake."
The voice came from behind her. Smooth, deep, unsettling.
Amara turned slowly.
Kene stood a few feet away, but this time he wasn't wet, wasn't shivering. His presence was commanding, his dark eyes still glowing faintly, as if they carried their own light.
Amara's throat tightened. "Where... where am I?"
Kene tilted his head, almost amused. "Not where. When."
Her heart skipped. "What do you mean?"
He stepped closer, the forest floor crunching beneath his boots. "This place is bound to your bloodline. A hidden realm, locked away by those who wanted to keep me from you. But now—you've opened the door."
Amara shook her head, trembling. "I didn't open anything! I just—"
"You looked into my eyes," he interrupted softly, his smile sharp. "That's all it takes. The bond is awake."
Her chest burned, the strange heat she felt earlier rising again. She pressed her hand against her heart, panic flaring. "What bond? Why me?"
Kene's gaze softened, almost pitying. "Because you are not just your mother's daughter. There's more in your veins than she's ever told you. And now... you'll see for yourself."
Suddenly, the ground beneath her feet pulsed, glowing faintly with symbols she didn't recognize. The trees around them seemed to bend, their branches curling like they were alive.
Amara stumbled back, eyes wide. "What's happening?!"
Kene reached out a hand toward her. "The truth. It's calling you."
She shook her head furiously. "No—I don't trust you!"
Kene's smile didn't fade. "You don't have to trust me. But your blood already has."
The glow on the ground brightened, rushing up around Amara's legs like fire. She screamed, her body trembling as visions flashed before her eyes—
—Her mother, younger sister , kneeling in the same forest, chanting with other figures in white robes.
—A man's voice, deep and thunderous, swearing an oath over a crying baby.
—A shadow breaking free, chained by fire and blood.
Amara fell to her knees, clutching her head as the visions burned through her.
When it finally stopped, she was shaking, gasping for air. Her eyes lifted slowly to Kene.
Her voice was barely a whisper. "Who... am I?"
Kene crouched in front of her, his eyes boring into hers.
"The one I was bound to find," he murmured. "The heir of the oath. My key. My curse. My..."
He leaned closer, his voice dropping lower.
"...my only way out."
Amara's blood chilled as she realized—Kene didn't just know her. He needed her.
And the question now was... for what?
To be continued...
We're officially knee-deep in the supernatural now. Amara's been dragged into a hidden realm, her bloodline has secrets, and Kene just revealed she's his "key." Key to what though?? Escape? Power? Or something worse? Drop your wildest theories—Episode 7 is where we start seeing just how dangerous this bond is...
