"I'm here to deliver a message from your mother," he said, handing me an envelope. "She wanted you to have this."

I took the envelope, my hands trembling as I opened it. Inside, I found a letter and an address.

The letter was brief, but it spoke volumes. "My dear," it read. "I've been watching you from afar, and I'm so proud of the strong,and capable woman you've become. I know I wasn't there for you when you needed me most, but I want you to know that I love you more than words can express. I'd like to meet with you in person, but I want to do it on my terms. Please come to the address below at your earliest convenience. The young man who delivered this letter will give you a business card, you can ask him to bring you when you're ready.”
