Chapter FIVE

CHAPTER FIVE: OR NOT. "Are u sure this is real" the policeman kept asking, I know shocked about two young girls in the early youth stage reporting such a big case, Teefah was talking for Us,I couldn't stand up for myself, she was doing it for me, I know "I am such a coward" yes I know, but then he faced me and asked me ,how is this true, I shrinked back in fear as I looked at my best friend, she just held my hand and nodded, "My Dad, I heard myself saying " is the leader of the Gang" and they killed him along with my Mum! I was shouting now, and " do you know what's worse?, He raped me!! I screamed in his face,my whole face red, Eyes blurry as I felt my best friend's soft touch telling me to calm down, I took one long breath, and surprisingly I was calm! Woah!! That was a first, speaking up for myself did that, I am going to be alright, as long as I don't falter, I turned to the policeman " do you get it now " you have to find them and get them arrested, Before they hurt other people, he just nodded and said he will get back to us, took our phone contact and that was it, we left, I was smiling, we finally said something,I spoke up, I am standing up for myself, and turned to my best friend and shouted " Yesssss, we did it" and hugged her again.

And we went back home, Her house, which  has become my home ever since that day! I woke up to my phone ringing in my ears the next morning, ohhhh, I needed more sleep!!!! I whined , I turned it off, and continued sleeping, after all it was class free day, just as I was about dozing off, it came on again! I had no choice,picking up my phone I pressed the answer button and shouted " WHAT!!! to whoever was my enemy to sleep that morning, Uhm is this Veronica? the other person on the line asked, Yes I answered,  this is Sergeant Patrick, I need you to come to the station now!! I was surprised, Okay??? What for? I asked, " you have to see this for yourself", Teefah!!!! Wake up!we have to be at the station now. Okay, am on my way! I said to the police man and ended the call.

" So we found something"! Sergeant Patrick said as we walked into his office, and based on the journal you gave me, we were able to catch them, We have the leader in our Custody now, He has been pretending to be a teacher on purpose because he found out you were schooling there, He also knows about Teefah! It's okay now though, we have him! And he will face punishment for his crimes as well as other members of the Gang. Although You have to testify in Court, as that will be needed. Well!! What's there to testify, it's no problem, right? I thought as we walked down to where we would take a taxi back to the house. We were supposed to wait a week for the court case, or for me to testify against the Gang, I was prepared or so I thought! I was supposed to go with Teefah that morning but she had to rush down to see her Head of department for an important issue that had to be resolved, after telling me, I was going to be fine, And she would meet me at the court before I begin testifying, she left to school as I begin my journey to the Court House, praying in my heart for the first time that everything will be okay! I was going to be fine, I was going to be happy again!!! Feeling super excited and Happy all of a sudden I didn't even see the bullet going straight to my chest, or the evil smirk of a very familiar face coming into view as I stared at him in shock and confusion, my head whirling in a swirling pool of thoughts ' how? How?!!! Kept ringing in my head, he was arrested for all I know, how did he get out, and why is he smiling at me, I was lost once again but this time , I am not going down without a fight, "how? I asked him and all I got was a laugh, Naive much,aren't you? Do you really think anyone even your stupid police officer can bring any of us down?! I was dumbfounded, I had been fooled again, " you are a girl, he continued, Girls are weak, They have no impact, no voice! And this time, Nothing will stop you from Dying!! He smirked as he grabbed me and tried to strangle me, But I used my last strength to kneed him in his balls, Shocked he was on his knees in seconds, Agony written all over his face, Before he could say a word, I grabbed the gun from where it fall from his hands and pointed it at him, I didn't even wait for him to say anything, my Hands were shaking but I didn't care, I pulled the trigger,once, twice ,thrice, not caring if I was getting it right?!!! I kept shooting until I could feel no sound coming off the Gun, I looked at him, he was already on the floor, tongue hanging off his mouth, Dead, Lifeless and this time I felt strangely relieved, a whole new feeling coming through for me, "Finally,it is over" I spat in his Lifeless form and took a step back! Wrong move, I had lost So much blood, I was growing weaker, I was dying, and this time I welcomed it, I could meet my parents again, we would be happy forever, I felt the gun drop from my cold hands as I hit the floor Smiling, it was really over, I would be safe, It is over!!. I heard silent cries and screaming voices and a sound that sounded really familiar like the voice of my best friend,and I whispered " I'm sorry" even when I know she couldn't hear me, and then I felt nothing, as darkness clouded me.
