Welcome to Afritales — a space built to uplift African voices and creativity. To ensure the safety, respect, and vibrancy of our community, we've established these guidelines. All users must follow them while using the platform.

1. Respect the Storytellers and Readers

We value freedom of expression — but never at the cost of others' dignity. Hate speech, harassment, threats, or any form of abuse will not be tolerated.

Do not post content that:

  • Promotes racism, tribalism, sexism, homophobia, or hate
  • Attacks individuals or communities
  • Encourages violence or discrimination

2. Originality Matters

Afritales is a platform for original storytelling. Plagiarism — whether of published or unpublished work — is strictly prohibited.

You must:

  • Only upload content you created or have the rights to use
  • Credit collaborators when applicable
  • Report any suspected content infringement

3. Keep It Safe for All Audiences

We support creativity across genres but prohibit explicit or dangerous content that may harm others.

Prohibited:

  • Pornographic or sexually explicit material (romance is allowed)
  • Excessive gore or glorification of violence
  • Content promoting self-harm, suicide, or illegal activities

4. Be Constructive

We encourage feedback and engagement, but it must remain respectful.

When commenting or reviewing stories:

  • Avoid insults, trolling, or personal attacks
  • Focus on the story, not the writer
  • Celebrate diversity in voice and style

5. Protect Your Account

Do not impersonate others, share private information, or mislead the community. Secure your login credentials and report suspicious activity.

6. Reporting & Moderation

We rely on the community to help us keep Afritales safe. Use the report buttons or email us at support@afritales.ng to flag issues.

Repeated violations may result in content removal, suspension, or account termination.
